Kia ora and welcome to my blog. This week in literacy we had to do a task but the main one for the year eights was a memoir to share our stories at St Francis. I shared one of my best memories which was the first time i came to his school (a set of work to do in the week). I enjoyed doing this task more than I thought I would.

This week in RE we have been learning about Advent and our task for it was to create a calendar everyday we must do a random act of kindness throughout the month. one of the kindness is opening a door for people. This task was a bit hard because I couldn’t find more.

Last week for RE I made a poster about All Saints and Souls Day.
All Saints Day is a day when we celebrate all the saints in Heaven. There are many people who have died and gone to heaven but have never been known by the Catholic Church. Even though they’re not canonized, they are still saints.
All Souls Day is a day we focus on prayer for those who have died and are suffering. These souls need our prayers to help them to get into Heaven. We pray about the people and family that have died.

For the last few weeks we have been reading about holes. We had to make a slide to answer the questions and make a poster or create a task. we had to put the questions and create task in a slide. Each class we have to read about 3 to 5 chapters and then there are questions about the chapters we read. we have to make a create task about what we read. my favorite task was when we had to write about the warrant.

This week we learnt about vocabulary. We had to fill out a slide about some vocab. The first slide was everything about curious and the rest was suffix and prefix. The last slide was the hardest. We had to find what the prefix means. I took more than 30 minute to finish.

This week we have been learning about racism. We learnt that to not treat others badly because they look different. We learnt that 29% of the world is racist i chose Jesse Owens and 31% are sexist. For the activity we had to chose a Olympic athlete that have been effected by racism watch a video about Jesse Owens then we had to copy a doc then fill out the questions.

This week we have been learning about the Paralympic ans. they were amazing so we had to make a create about any Paralympic an. I chose Matthew Britz. He is a Paralympic table tennis player. His health condition is the he has Bailey Bloch congenital myopic. he is an amazing table tennis player.

This week we have been learning about a certain Olympian. I have chosen Lydia Ko she is a pro golfer. she moved to New Zealand when she was 4. I chose Lydia Ko because me and her are Korean. here is the slides about Lydia Ko.

what is your favorite Olympian
This week’s PBL assignment required students to create a pictogram for a sport, specifically Basksteball, as a symbol of the sport in the Olympic games. The pictogram should have symmetry, a sport-specific element, and arrows pointing to different parts.

This week we have been learning about the ancient Olympics and the historical meaning. I have learned the Olympics games in ancient Greece where a lot of sports were similar to current day sports. In one of my activities I made a story about myself in the ancient Olympics. It was cool to learn something new.
